I have been requesting one of these for Christmas, birthdays, Mother's Day, etc. for about 10 years; nobody took the hint. So this Christmas I decided if I did not get one would buy myself one. And I found a super great deal on this one on Amazon for 40% off.It meets my expectations +++! Perfect fit, I bought the small/medium, ivory color. I am 5'1" about 115 lbs. Before washing it came almost to my ankles, after washing about 2-3 inches shorter. Did not seem to shrink any around the body that I could tell, just a little in the length. Did not shed as much as I expected, no more than a new towel on the first washing and about the same as a towel after that. And it did not take as long as I thought it would to dry.When requesting this robe for a gift I was asked "But wouldn't you rather have one of those nice, soft, fleecy ones?" Those feel good if you are dry already, but do not lift a drop of water off your body. With this robe you dry off a little with a wash cloth and put the robe on right out of the shower and you are instantly dry! It is not fleecy feeling but I personally like the way the terry feels better. I do not like being even a little cold and this robe keeps you toasty warm. The terry on this is very thick and tightly woven; a few loose threads came out the 1st wash but not after that. I would, and have, recommend this to anyone who wants to enjoy getting out of the shower as much as being in the shower!I purchased this robe to use when getting out of the pool and hot tub. I am 5'4", 165 lbs. I bought the large/extra large and after washing it, it fits perfect on me. The sleeves are the perfect length, it fits comfortably around, and the length is perfect. If you are taller or have longer arms, it may not work for you. It's a true cream color. This is not a luxury spa robe, but it is thick and warm enough for my purpose (fabulous on a cold night right out of the dryer.) The collar is warm around my neck, the sleeves are a single hem about an inch wide (no fancy large bulky cuff); the pockets are in the right place; and although it is not the best quality terrycloth, it is fine for everyday use at the pool. I didn't want something heavy and bulky, and this is perfect. The one negative is that one of the belt loops came loose before I even tried it on, but that's easy to stitch back on - not a deal breaker for me. It did shed when washed and dried, but this is normal for terry robes. I hope this is helpful.This type of towel is very common in Europe. It's not a robe that you would wear around the house. It's a towel that you can wear, so it's really absorbent and it gives you a cozy feeling walking out of the shower. They're really good in the winter when getting out of the shower might feel a little uncomfortable and cold. I have looked for these for many years in the U.S. But, they have never been of the same towel material as I had them in Europe. This one finally is right. It is long which I love because I can dry my feet and legs before getting out of the tub without having to pull and tug on it. It is not too wide. It wraps around just enough to cover your body but it could be a little wider. If you are looking for a plush, soft, light robe to walk around in, this is not it.Cord-Loop was very loosely sewn and thus the loop got detached on probably the first day of its use. The overall quality and feel is very good. But.....there is a problem of loose threads hinging / hanging at various places. This is the result of a lack of appropriate quality assurance and supervision during final finishing stage of production. This product could have been finished with more care and QA supervision and its beautiful fabric and overall delivery of value for money would have increased many folds compared to what I got. But nevertheless, I will not take these two cons and multiply it with a zero to rate this product highly unsatisfactory. Its quality of fabric and feel weighs heavy on the Production and Finishing Quality.The people at TowelSelections helped me to find the perfect robe for me.I wanted to buy the heaviest Turkish Cotton robe I could find. They were honest and said that the ones they had available at that time were light or medium weight. They suggested I wait a couple of weeks...until their next shipment came in. Only thing is that the Turks don't seem to be making their towels (bathrobes) as thick and absorbant as in 'the old days.' Sign of the times ...This robe was huge on me. I am 5ft, 4in and weigh 172. It almost wrapped around me twice and it came down to my ankles. it is also of a heavy towel material as the ad says, but it is so heavy that it was just uncomfortable to wear. I am returning it but am ordering a lighter weight robe made by the same company since this one was really very well made. I also ordered a smaller size so hope it will fit betterI would have given 5 stars if it had fit..I wear a misses size 12 and ordered a medium/large, which fits just fine if it doesn't shrink anymore--it shrank noticeably after the first wash even though I washed cold, dried on low till half-dry. Since it's unisex sizing, the sleeves are a bit long but can be turned up. The blue color is nice. The robe is heavier than I expected since some reviewers complained about how "thin" it is. Not! It is nice and thick although I was hoping for something lighter weight and not take up too much room in a suitcase. Still, I'm happy with it but will have to wait till winter to enjoy it.
